As part of the moorland restoration handbook, I am compiling a list of timing restrictions and ideal times for undertaking works. Please can anyone add things that restrict when you can undertake work (e.g. bird nesting, shooting, burning period, lambing) or the ideal times for doing them (e.g. seeding, availability of heather seed).

As it's the moorland restoration handbook, I'm particularly interested in the uplands.
